Contact lenses are accepted all over the world as a convenient and effective means of visual aid, and not only in terms of appearance, but also due to certain clinical conditions, they are a suitable substitute for glasses, but if they are well cared for. If not, they will definitely cause irritation, inflammation and infection. For more efficiency of these lenses, it is better to observe the following points.
Put the lens in your eye with clean hands and short nails.
– To put the lens in the eye and take it off, a mirror should be used to prevent them from falling and getting lost.
– Use the washing solution and lens holder regularly until the expiration date.
– The lens stays in the eye for longer than the prescribed time
Accumulation of secretions and infection of the lenses The lenses should be removed from the eye after an average of 8 hours of use and placed in a cleansing environment for 45 minutes. Use glasses at this distance if necessary.
People who want to use contact lenses must meet the following conditions:
The person’s desire to use contact lenses
Location of the person and the possibility of access to a doctor in case of an acute complication
Assurance of the physician that the person observes health issues
Ability to hold the lens – Older people are not able to insert or remove the lens.
The job and place of employment of the person are among the points that should be considered.
It is not suitable to use the lens in environments where there is dust or smoke, such as Tehran, or in very cold or very hot weather.

Diseases that should be examined before using the lens include:
1- Diabetes increases the risk of eye infections due to problems in repairing the surface of the cornea and reducing the sensation of the cornea.
2. Hyperthyroidism, which causes dryness of the cornea due to the protrusion of the eyes and the reduction of the frequency of blinking.
3. Infections of the hands and mouth, such as herpes, because these diseases cause the spread of infection.
4- Various allergic diseases such as skin allergies.
5- Acne

A few tips: – Whenever the eye becomes red, you should remove the lens and see an ophthalmologist immediately.
Do not use eye drops, especially steroids, when the lens is on the eye
